A lot of people find it difficult to change, move on and improve as a person because of the unwillingness to let go – let go of the old self, old belief and all habits.

And that goes back to fear of the unknown. Even just opening yourself up to new ideas and situations is a step outside of your comfort zone, and yes that can be pretty scary. But what if it can also be beautiful, and positive and amazing? Isn’t it worth the risk?

Unfortunately, people often choose the comfort of familiarity – no matter how shitty that familiar situation is, a lot of people still make that choice…

and the worst part is that the choosing happens automatically/subconsciously.

If you want to be the best version of yourself, you don’t only have to change,

you have to be no one, have nothing (no attachments),

you have to be empty, go back to being a clear slate.

And this time, hopefully, instead of being helpless and having your family’s or the society’s beliefs and expectations imprinted on you, you instead get to choose which beliefs and habits you want to have for yourself.

It’s like that famous metaphor…

Your cup has to be empty to learn something new.

A full cup will just spill whatever is poured into it.

So the first step to changing is to empty your cup,

choose your new mix and flavor,

and be open to life pouring it into you.

Embrace nothingness.

Embrace change.
