For the majority of my life I never seem to like green. I don’t know what it is about this color but I just never really appreciated it.

A few years back, I visited my sister in Qatar. I woke up each day without seeing any greens around. There were no trees, no grass, no plants, no flowers around.

Sure it was a new place with some interesting views but it was the desert and a concrete jungle.

After some time I felt a bit depressed.

And then one day we drove by a park with a beautiful mini forest landscape. I started beaming with joy. I never realized a tree or a lawn with healthy grass could bring me such joy.

Sometimes something needs to be taken away from us for us to realize it’s value. It’s so easy to take for granted the things (or people) that we have in our lives.

Steps to Instant Happiness:

Step 1: List down three things that you use (or see) everyday. Example your phone, your couch, your car.

Step 2: Imagine not having these things around available for use (or if you are brave enough, put it away and don’t use it for a day).

Step 3: Bathe in gratitude and feel a brand new level of appreciation for these things.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 but this time with people in your life.

Step 5: Reach out to these people and tell them how much you love them and thank them for being in your life.

I love this line I came across:

“Wisdom is knowing the value of things while you still have them.”

Because there would be a time when it is too late. Don’t wait, appreciate.

Isn’t it lovely? I now know and love greens. kiss
